Painting near daily now since 2006 has brought a world of insight and evolution to the feeling & intention in my work. Shifting from realism to impressionist-expressionist treatment of each subject, the changes have been remarkable.
Most of my time painting is in the open air where I work from life with palette knives and the real world in front of me. Successful painting is lively & fresh. For me, plein air and palette knives hold this promise by shielding against the traps of tedious duplication that always deaden my work.
I participate in many local, regional & national juried shows & paintouts and have won place awards as well as awards of honor & excellence. I teach workshops in the Central Florida area two times a year and will be a head instructor for Barbara Mastaglio's "Ireland 2009 Valentia Island-County Kerry Ireland Retreat".
