Margé Drew, while raising four sons, graduated with high honors in fine art and psychology from Eastern Michigan University. She attended on a scholarship awarded to her from Monroe County Community College in Michigan, when she received her Liberal Studies degree with honors.

Her works are collected by The Mobile Museum of Art, Big Sur River Inn Resorts, and Angelicia Nurseries, Inc. Among her numerous exhibitions are: The Toledo Museum of Art, Hillcrest Art Center's International Show, and The Santa Maria Museum Art Center.

Her published work includes the CD cover On Chynoweth Avenue; the cover of The Ormond Magazine; the cover of the international magazine Amistad; the cover of SEE St. Augustine. Amistad and the SEE St. Augustine hotel book included a full column story about her. The In-Room Concierge hard cover Daytona Beach area hotel book published her painting Daytona View on its cover. Inside, eight of her paintings illustrate sections of the book. This Concierge book also included a half page biographical sketch and photo of her. The In-Room book will remain in all the hotels in the Daytona Beach areas until November of 2009.

This international artist has relocated numerous times in the past twenty-five years; both in this country and out; with her husband's career transfers. Margé has produced, promoted and participated in group benefit art exhibitions. She is a co-founding member, and promotes the art group REFLECTIONISTS.

Margé studied with Ted Vassar, Robert Burridge, Art Renshaw, Larry Morace and Larry Moore. Her award winning paintings may be found in private collections in both the USA and in other countries. She paints mostly with oils en plein air. She still paints with watercolor in her studio; but she finds that she loves leaving its confines. The complexity of working en plein air, under adverse conditions and its ever changing light has improved her skills, while expanding her vision. She loves the joy filled tranquility that she experiences while painting out-of-doors.

She is affiliated with and has exhibited with numerous art organizations: American Impressionists Society; FL National Museum of Women in the Arts; California Watercolor Association; Plein Air Florida; Central Florida Plein Air Artists; Daytona Beach Art League, Island Fine Art Gallery, & East Coast Plein Air. She is represented by The Metropolitan Art Gallery in Ormond Beach, FL. Her recent solo exhibition kicked off their first First Friday event in Ormond Beach.

Artist's Statement

All sense of time is suspended for me while I am painting natures beautiful bounty. My paintings often reflect the soft tranquility that I feel while I paint. I am fascinated by the challenges that nature presents with its ever changing light and moods. My heart fills with joy when I come close to expressing with paint what I feel and what I see.
My hope is that the very quiet softness that I feel when I am painting will bathe the viewer in its calming voice.
