The process of Plein Air painting is an exciting one. So many things affect the final outcome such as location, composition, light or lack of it, bugs (they can add texture!) and so much else. But we are a hardy group with a devotion to capturing the moment when it all just "happens". There is a sense of adventure with each outdoor experience and it cannot be matched in a studio where the artist has time and control of the elements. Both approaches to painting have different sets of challenges and I love the freedom of each one.
